Bug reports

Postby gothic251 » Sat Nov 29, 2008 1:30 am

Hey Thandrenn, I LOVE your mod. I really appreciate your continued maintenance of it.

I have some things I believe are bugs. I'll list them here, and edit in more if I find any.

Gnomergan - Essential Artifacts - Should this not have a talk cloud and not an arrow, as it's prequest is not in Gnomergan?
Deadmines - The Defias Brotherhood - This quest doesn't have a follow up quest, the follow up quest you list just happens to be a drop from Edwin Van Cleef. Anyways, the actual quest you list as the follow up doesn't have an arrow next to it.

I understand many of your decisions, for example, having arrows on quests that follow after the "mini-quest" after the prequest ie. Stone Circle for sunken temple, but it is just this quest that seems, well, borked. The quest, "The Sunken Temple" is not gotten in, nor do you have to do anything in, sunken temple, and yet it is listed as a Sunken Temple quest, when that's clearly not the case. I suggest removing this as a quest, and simply keeping "Into The Depths", yet remove the arrow and replace it with a talk bubble, and explaining it's small pre-questline in the comments for it, and the same with "Secret Of The Circle".

Hi,

Thanks for the info. I've corrected the bubbles & arrows for the Deadmines, Gnomer and Sunken Temple quests. It'll be in the next release.

I do agree with you that the quest "The Sunken Temple" probably shouldn't be in there, and some day I do intend to remove it. However with the way AtlasQuest is presently coded removing quests is a bit of a pain as I'd have to go in and rename all the variables for the quests following it (and there's alot for Sunken Temple). So that'll have to wait for another day.

For the most part my loose criteria for inclusion of a quest is that it involves Killing a Boss, Looting something or talking to an NPC inside an instance. "The Sunken Temple" meets none of those. In my haste to add the Lich King quests, "Violet Hold: Discretion is Key" was added, though it's much the same. It wouldn't be as big a deal to remove this one as the Sunken Temple one, but it doesn't really do any harm, so I'll leave it in for now.

The HFC: Shattered Halls key questline "Entry Into the Citadel" was initially not included, but considering how obscure that questline is (a drop from some named mob near Black Temple), it seemed appropriate.

I found another one. On Uldaman, should not "Back to Uldaman" have an arrow next to it, as it is the next quest after the quest after "The Shattered Necklace"?

Also, you're missing a quest for Uldaman, "Indurium Ore". The quest involves mining Indurium Ore, which is only found inside Uldaman. Also, shouldn't "Uldaman Reagent Run" say in the notes that the prequest is gotten from the same guy?

Also on Uldaman, the notes for "Restoring The Necklace", the notes should say "drops from Archaedas" not "drops Archaedas"

"Victory for the Alliance" in Onyxia's Lari does not have the word "Reward" and choice numbers above the reward tooltips.

Found two more small ones.

The quest "Grime-Encrusted Ring" in Gnomeregan, it says the item is a random drop. Well, it is random, but it only drops off of one enemy, Dark Iron Agents, which only reside in the hall leading to the mekgineers door.

The quest "Kibler's Exotic Pets" in Lower Blackrock Spire, the Notes say Worg Cup instead of Worg Pup

I found one:

The quest "A Score to Settle" in Utgarde Keep.
It says there's no prequest, but I can't access this quest from "High Executor Anselm" until I finish the quest line "War is Hell -> Report to Anselm".

Notice the 2nd comment.

Thanks. I've added both your fixes. They'll be committed to the SVN as soon as GoogleCode finishes their maintenence.

Found some more.

In UBRS, the quest The Demon Forge is for Blacksmiths only, which you do say in the notes, but shouldn't it also say Blacksmith next to the quest title, as is the norm?

In Stratholme, the quest Houses of the Holy, you actually get the holy water from Crates, not Chests. Small, yes, but we don't want people running around looking for chests that aren't there.

Also in Stratholme, the quest The Restless Souls, it should say in the notes "The Spectral Citizens walk through the streets of Stratholme." and not "walk through whole Stratholme." Just a grammar fix, but still worth fixing.

Also in Stratholme, the quest Aurius' Reckoning, the note should read ", Aurius will die as well." not ", Aurius too will die." Again, just a grammar fix, but worth fixing.

And another one.

In UBRS, the quest Eye of the Emberseer is a part of the questline for the Aqual Quintessence, which is no longer necessary as of 3.0.8, and thusly, all the quests given by Duke Hydraxis, including this quest and it's prequest, are no longer in the game. This should be noted in the "notes" so people don't go ALLLL the way to Duke Hydraxis just to find out they wasted their time.
The same is true for the first two quests in Molten Core, although you do make note of 3.0.8's affect on the questline in the second quest.

And another one lol

In Stratholme, the quest "Menethil's Gift", the prequest says "The Human Ras Frostraunen" When it should say "The Human, Ras Frostwhisper"
Notice the addition of the missing comma.

Thandrenn - You didn't fix one bug I mentioned,

"In Stratholme, the quest "Menethil's Gift", the prequest says "The Human Ras Frostraunen" When it should say "The Human, Ras Frostwhisper"
Notice the addition of the missing comma."

You fixed the comma, but not the spelling of his name.

Also, I want to change the fix I suggested. The way the sentence is worded, this bugreport,

"Also in Stratholme, the quest Aurius' Reckoning, the note should read ", Aurius will die as well." not ", Aurius too will die." Again, just a grammar fix, but worth fixing."

should be worded, ", Aurius will also die.", not ", Aurius will die too."

Found some more

For the quests Have They No Shame?, Prisoner of War, and Proof of Demise: Keristrasza in The Nexus, in the notes, the numbers for where the bosses are are wrong.

For Have They No Shame?, Grand Magus Telestra is at 3, not 5. For Prisoner Of War and Proof of Demise: Keristrasza, Keristrasza is at 5, not 4.

Just a small one.
For the updated notes on the brewfest daily, it says "It can be once a day per person..." when it should say "It can be done once a day per person..."
