Atlas Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
How do I install Atlas?
First, locate your World of Warcraft addons folder. This is usually C:\Program Files\World of Warcraft\Interface\AddOns\ if your computer is running Windows. Next, unzip the file you just downloaded into the AddOns folder and restart the game. Windows XP has built-in zip support. You can also use WinZip or PowerArchiver.
Why doesn't Atlas appear in my list of Addons? (This is the most-asked question, by far)
Some zip software creates a new folder for the contents of a zip file to be extracted into. This will prevent the game from recognizing addons. For example, the path to Atlas.lua may look like C:\Program Files\World of Warcraft\Interface\AddOns\Atlas_vX.X.X\Atlas\ -- in this case, the Atlas_vX.X.X folder was created automatically by the zip software and is causing the problem. Move the Atlas folder into the AddOns folder, and everything will work.
Why aren't there maps for Kara and CoT? (new!)
There are! Currently, the maps are organized by continent. Kara is in the Eastern Kingdoms list and CoT is in Kalimdor.
Why do I see green squares instead of maps?
This means that the game can't locate the image files Atlas needs to function. This is often caused by zip software that doesn't preserve directory structures. Use one of the recommended zip programs listed above. All blp files must be located within a folder called Images that's found inside the Atlas folder.
How can I get rid of the error Atlas generates after the game loads?
First and foremost, restart the game. If that doesn't get rid of the error, clear all of the Atlas saved variable data and restart the game again. Saved variables are stored in the World of Warcraft/WTF folder. If the error still doesn't go away, contact me at the address listed belore or post here.
Why doesn't Atlas show my position inside an instance?
Some time ago, Blizzard removed the ability to get coordinates inside an instance, so unfortunately this feature is impossible.
Can I use your maps?
Yes, if you give credit and a link to atlasmod.com -- also, don't hotlink; please host the images yourself.

Just a quick note:
If you're getting errors with any new version of Atlas, simply restart the client. Hot-swapping doesn't work.
If the errors persist, remove your Atlas saved variables data.
If the errors still persist, contact me: loglow@gmail.com

So? You got a error! But is it an Atlas error? Let's find out!
1. Go to the character select screen and disable all addons except Atlas.
2. Log in and play. If you don't get the error, then it isn't a problem with Atlas!
3. If you do get an error, then go check for a updated version. If the new version didn't fix your problem, see step 4.
4. Come here to the Atlas forum! Then look around to see if anyone posted it already.
5. If not, make a detailed topic describing what you were doing at the time and the exact text of the error.
6. Wait for new version.
There you go, a noob's guide to errors!
