[FUTURE] Search annoyance

More complex changes for future versions.
Forum rules
I know all these ideas have a very good chance of dying here, especially being buried as they are. However, anything listed here is much more likely to happen than anything in the Feature Requests forum since I'm kind of a list-oriented person. So, if you see something there that should be here, go ahead and make a new thread. And if you really want one of these things to happen, the more actively you bug me about it, the more likely it is to happen. Finally, if anything in here is more urgent than "wishful thinking" just let me know and I'll move it out to the root Pending Changes area for immediate work. Cheers!

[FUTURE] Search annoyance

Post by Robsato » Tue Jun 17, 2008 6:04 pm

When using the search in Atlas (at the bottom right of the window) the result is often displayed in a not very usefull way. For example lets take the BRD map and I am searching for the location of "Verek". When I press Search I only see the name "Verek" and not the number which does not help me locate "Verek" on the map :(

You're very right about that, and it's less than adequate in that situation.

Fixing it will require a slight data format update, which would probably be a good idea, as well as changes to the search process. It's all doable, and shouldn't be terribly hard. It's not going to happen before the next release, which'll be quite soon, but perhaps right after that.

Cheers, and thanks for the feedback!

if there isnt's a search which scans all maps included but just the current shown map, I'd rather remove the search cause of conflicts with the atlasloot-search and kind of uselessness

I can't really disagree with you, but I predict some manner of backlash.
