Yatlas - I Love it & really miss it

Post by levithan » Tue Dec 19, 2006 7:38 pm

I Really miss the Yatlas addon for Atlas. It was way more precise than the dumb minimap.

My idea:

Continue development of Yatlas
Combine Yatlas & Atlas Towns
Insert a Npc Database with search function
Insert a Function showing yellow or grey ! and ? on Quest NPCs regarding the quest status.
Insert a Function showing green ! on unknown flight-points.
Insert a Funktion showing little books at Teachers.
Insert a Function showing little Bags on Merchants.
Insert a Funktion to Filter the infos shown. (hide npcs, only show active quests, hide merchants, .... )

i havent testet atlas towns jet, but im sure its awesome like atlas & atlas-loot.

My dreams would come true, if there would be a chance of a new Yatlas version. perfect would be a complete Atlas/Atlas-town support for the Yatlas Frame.

I Know, the new Interface / Plugin developement standarts are quite difficult / new to programmers and you are doing a grate job, wastening your time for us.

I love Yatlas too, however I'm not the author of it, nor was it ever a plugin for Atlas. It's always been an entirely separate addon project. The developer of Yatlas is named Robin Schoonover. Many months ago I approached him about combining our efforts, but unfortunately it never panned out.

Well this is actually too much work for me... with AtlasMajorCities and AtlasTowns to finish before the BC release (3 days till vacancies!!!!) I think that AtlasMajorCities is actually complete for a little plugin. Maybe the NPCs/vendors/questgivers will be nice when the numbers will be generated as flags dynamicly, I'll try to work on this for Atlas 2.

I think it's all in md5translate.trs

I also know all the outdoor minimap tiles are arranged in a grid, unlike the pesky instances.

Yatlas has been picked up by an addon author named Boo Diddly, here's a link for it http://addon.hotwow.com/addon/addon_167.html . Dan I hope u don't mind me bumping the link. If so just msg me and I'll remove it.
